First, we connected the 7 LEDs’ positive end separately to different ports. Then, the negative ends were connected to the same negative port of the Arduino Lilypad USB. Afterwards, we connected the Arduino Lilypad to the computer and used the provided Arduino code to run. At last, we used a Sony a99 camera to take the long exposure photos for the final outcomes.

Task 2:
Proposed Project Description:
We propose to make a POV wristband which will change its color and shape according to the loudness of the surrounding sound. It can be used in concerts for celebrities. When the celebrity dances, the POV wristband will follow his/her movement to form a sequence of images, which would give a surprise to his/her fans when they take a long exposure photo of their beloved celebrities.
More importantly, we think that implementing this POV wristband for the celebrities, the amplitude of their songs, and their dance moves will be mixed with their fans’ cheers, in which the long exposure photo actually did capture the whole atmosphere and excitement of the concert.
How the modification can be done:

A sound intensity sensor can be added to the device and the LEDs on the device will be replaced by tri-colour LEDs. The signal gained from the sensor will control two parameters -- the hue and the number of LEDs to be turned on. When the sensor receives a high sound intensity, a lower hue value (around 0) will be sent to the LEDs. So, the LEDs will be displayed as red. When a lower intensity is received, a higher hue value (around 240) will be sent, which will turn the LEDs blue. Besides, a larger number of LEDs will light up with a higher sound intensity so that a larger bar representing the volume can be seen.

This paper tried to found out features of groups of people doing heuristic evaluation on interfaces design. And it gives out the result that there are not really a "absolute good evaluator"  or a  "absolute poor evaluator". As different person will have different perspective to look at things. The same design may become a usability problem to some groups of people while the other groups of people may not consider it as a usability problem. So, heuristic evaluation should be done with people from different characters and background. This paper has a bit inspired me, as I always think that people that spots more problem means that their are more smart. week2: Reflection on "Norman, 2002. The Design of Everyday Things."

In the starting of chapter 3 of the book, Normans claims that people's behavior will be constrained by the information in the world, old memories in their brain and the cultural habits.  Thus, people may found confused to use new apparatus or product especially which are made from the other countries. And I think he is right. I deal with varies software and operation system during my student life in SCM. And all the hotkeys of them are different, which makes my feel confused and frustrated to use. For example, I have been used Win OS for more than 10 years. My brain tells my that when you scroll the wheel of the mouse up, the browser page will goes up. But in Mac OS, it is in reverse. When you scroll the mouse wheel up, the page go down. And it has bothered me a lot when I were using Mac OS. Another example is the Adobe Photoshop. Before I used the Photoshop, I knew that Ctrl+z will be the hot key to undo the action in any software. But in Photoshop, you need to press Ctrl+Alt+Z...

SM3727 Reflection on Soft-Circuit Making (by Lau Pak Yan)

The first advantage is that it can make the device to be more comfortable to wear. The conductive thread has a similar texture to the material of clothes. Which is soft and comfortable to touch and contact to our skin. While the traditional wires are harder to bend and have an uncomfortable plastic surface. Also, soft-circuit have lower weight than the normal circuit, which will make the device become lighter and more comfortable to wear. The second advantage is that it can provide a more natural look on clothes.   Threads of soft-circuit looks almost the same as the treads in clothes, its color and texture can be blended and merged into the clothes.
